prAna Evie Pant Review
The prAna Evie Pant is work, trail, and travel ready thanks to stretch woven canvas that allows you to hike, climb, and bike in comfort and style.
prAna Evie Pant Fabric and Features
The prAna Evie Pant features stretch woven canvas that is composed of feel good organic cotton (97%) and Spandex (3%). The combo provides a flattering fit, with stretch that doesn’t get baggy or unflattering on day 2 or 3 of wear. The stretch canvas is medium weight, making it ideal for spring through fall. In summer months, the pants can be rolled up into a capri to keep you cool as temperatures rise. The fabric combo may not be ideal for rock climbing, as I obtained a small tear in the knee while at work, which is in a hospital and not out on the trail or on a pitch.
The prAna Evie Pant is available in three easy to mix and match colors: Coal (dark gray), Wren (dark green), and Mahogany (burgundy). prAna has utilized gray contrast stitching to give the pants some definition and style. The Evie Pant features two standard front pocket, two rear pockets, and a small velcro tabbed side pocket on the right leg that is just big enough for a car key. The pants feature a zip fly and snap closure for easy on/off. Unlike many women’s hiking pants, prAna has included belt loops, which I love.
prAna Evie Pant Sizing and Style
The Evie Pant is available in sizes 0-14. prAna.com features a handy dandy size guide to help those that don’t live near a store that carries prAna apparel. prAna provides clear guidance on where to measure your low waist and hip. You then use these two values to determine the best size based on your fit preferences. The Evie Pant, for example, features prAna’s standard fit, which means that they are semi-fitted with a bit of room in the hips and thighs. I ordered based on the size guide and found that they run true to size and stretch out only a bit as the day progresses, more like a 1/4 size vs the standard full size stretch with some jeans on the market.
The Evie Pant has a 32” inseam for all sizes. Unfortunately, this model is not available in short or tall sizing. However, prAna does offer the Bedford Canyon Pant, Halle Pant, and Monarch Pant in short (30”) and tall (36”). I am 5’8″ and found the length on the Evie Pant to be adequate. I have been washing the pants in the cold cycle and hang drying, to avoid even a slight loss in length.
After a solid 2 months in my closet and pack, the Evie Pant has become my go to pant as the temperatures drop. For more information on the new Evie Pant and other great products, please visit prAna.com.
