Columbia Helsinki Pant Review

Helsinki Pant 300x300 Columbia Helsinki Pant Review

Columbia’s Helsinki Pant incorporates Omni-Tech technology to provide a waterproof yet breathable ski/boarding pant. We tested the Helsinki Pant on frigid morning downhill laps and were surprised about the warmth they provided despite their relatively lightweight feel. The pants also have some stretch to them, which allows them to move with you as you charge down the hill. We liked the outer ventilator zips at the thigh for when you start to heat up and the ability to adjust the waist for a perfect fit with the included outer belt and the inner velcro adjustment tabs. The Helsinki pants come with an outer loop at the right hip to attach your jacket too; we liked this feature but thought a second loop would be beneficial on the other side, to truly keep your jacket and pants connected and keep out snow. These pants have a very generous fit, maybe a bit too generous for some; we suggest sizing down by one size if you like a closer fit. To round out the features, the Helsinki has a very handy velcro and snap gaiter system that fits over snowboard boots and ski boots alike, and a trendy wide leg bottom. Overall, the Helsinki pant is a stylish addition to your ski/snow wardrobe. For more information, please visit Columbia.com

Shannon, our fabulous female tester, takes gear testing to a new level for women. When not at work or school, she is most likely training for a marathon, climbing one of Colorado’s tallest peaks, riding her road bike, or skiing down a mountain slope. Like many women, Shannon gets cold easily, therefore, we try to test the best all weather gear to help her stay warm and dry during all day outdoor pursuits. In the warmer months, Shannon enjoys exploring the Colorado backcountry with her friends and dogs and attempts to escape for as many trail runs as her schedule allows. Shannon is a great women’s tester because she gives readers true insight into how a product may perform for an active woman.
