Review: Women’s Nike Zoom Structure Triax +12 ESC

The Zoom Structure Triax +12 ESC Trail is based on Nike’s best-selling stability road shoe. The Triax+12 Trail is a stability hybrid shoe that is designed to run on all sorts of terrain, including trails. The upper is water resistant, the gusseted tongue protects from rocks entering the shoe, and the rubber outsole is composed of waffle lugs and sticky rubber for improved traction. Testers found the Triax+12 to feel a bit bulky on the trail and the water repellant upper did not breathe as well as traditional trail runners. Testers, however, reported excellent motion control and good cushioning ability, as well as a nice women’s specific fit. The laces on these shoes seemed a tad short and came untied quiet easily, which can sometimes be a hassle when on the trail. A nice bonus is that the Triax+12 is outfitted with Nike+ technology which allows for up to the minute pace, distance, time elapsed and calories burned data to be transmitted wirelessly to an ipod device from a chip inserted into your shoe. Overall, Nike has done a nice job introducing a shoe that appeals to loyal Triax customers that seek a more rugged shoe. For more information, please visit NikeRunning.com
