Review: Women’s Merrell CP Paragon

Merrell CP Paragon 300x300 Review: Womens Merrell CP Paragon

Merrell has recently entered the trail running shoe arena and the CP Paragon is one of their latest mild stability shoes, designed for mild over pronators. When the CP Paragon’s arrived, we were immediately impressed by their fun and not so conventional appearance; the mid-sole is a fun light pink color, while the breathable mesh upper has a light green camouflage theme. Over 50% of the CP Paragon is constructed from recycled materials, which is an excellent green effort. Testers enjoyed the full breathable mesh upper and sticky rubber traction that the CP Paragon provided. They also enjoyed the lightweight design; the CP Paragon weighs in at 9.2 ounces. Testers felt that the shoe lacked some essential cushioning in the heel and forefoot areas and that the shoe could benefit from a beefier foot plate to prevent feeling rocks and roots while running. Shannon, our fabulous female tester, takes gear testing to a new level for women. When not at work or school, she is most likely training for a marathon, climbing one of Colorado’s tallest peaks, riding her road bike, or skiing down a mountain slope. Like many women, Shannon gets cold easily, therefore, we try to test the best all weather gear to help her stay warm and dry during all day outdoor pursuits. In the warmer months, Shannon enjoys exploring the Colorado backcountry with her friends and dogs and attempts to escape for as many trail runs as her schedule allows. Shannon is a great women’s tester because she gives readers true insight into how a product may perform for an active woman.
