Patagonia Women’s Release Review

Womens Patagonia Release 300x300 Patagonia Womens Release ReviewThe Women’s Patagonia Release is a trail shoe that is designed to provide extreme comfort and support during higher mileage runs. The Release weighs 23 ounces/pair and is by no means a light trainer. The Release, however, does provide some excellent trade offs by providing incredible shock absorption and cushioning. The Release was tested on trail runs and day hikes. The dynamic fit lacing system and TPU Arch Bridge provide a snug fit that worked with a variety of our testers foot types. Testers with a narrower foot found the toe box and heel to be a tad roomy and suggest that perhaps sizing down by a half size would help with this issue. We tested the Release on a variety of terrain, including trails with stream crossings; testers enjoyed the breathable mesh upper that allowed for ventilation and faster drying times. The tread placement and Vibram sole combine to provide sticky traction when needed. Overall, the Release is a durable trail shoe for training runs or day hikes. About the Author

Shannon, our fabulous female tester, takes gear testing to a new level for women. When not at work or school, she is most likely training for a marathon, climbing one of Colorado’s tallest peaks, riding her road bike, or skiing down a mountain slope. Like many women, Shannon gets cold easily, therefore, we try to test the best all weather gear to help her stay warm and dry during all day outdoor pursuits. In the warmer months, Shannon enjoys exploring the Colorado backcountry with her friends and dogs and attempts to escape for as many trail runs as her schedule allows. Shannon is a great women’s tester because she gives readers true insight into how a product may perform for an active woman.
