Mizuno Maverick Split Short Review

The Maverick Split Short by Mizuno, is a featherweight training or racing short. The Maverick incorporates QuickDry Plus technology into the outer shell, which makes the Maverick a lightweight and quick drying, which are a plus when you are trying to be your best. These shorts have a 2” inseam, which may seem too short for some, but they feel longer because of their split short design. These shorts allow complete range of motion and you can really forget about these shorts once you put them on because they are that comfortable. We liked the hidden velcro side pocket because it keeps these shorts looking clean and professional, but allows for key storage. We also liked the absence of a tag indicating the care and size of the garment, something that always gets cut out after the first wear. The Maverick has some flare on the left hip to make these a little more girlie and coordinates well with the Jinx Run Top. Overall, the Maverick is a great no frills race day run short.
