Core Concepts Sprint Zip Neck Review

Sprint Zip Neck1 292x300 Core Concepts Sprint Zip Neck Review

The Core Concepts Sprint Zip Neck has added a new twist to your traditional running top. The Sprint Zip Neck has the “Zip Flip & Stash” system; at the lower back there is a wide zipper storage area which turns inside out to store the entire top inside and has a small buckle system to wear the flipped out top around your waist. We loved this concept because many times you overdress on a run and get overheated; tying your top around your waist is cumbersome and it always slips around on your hips. This does not happen with the “Zip Flip & Stash” system, the top stays put on your hips and does not bounce around too much. This top is made with double layer Cocona fabric, which not only provides UPF 50 sun protection, but also evaporative cooling and odor resistance. We tested out the Sprint Zip Neck as a base layer on ski and snowshoe trips and on pre-work morning runs. We found the Sprint top to be an excellent top that can be worn a couple times in a row before needing a good washing. In previous testing, we have found the Cocona fabric to snag easily, this was not the case with the Sprint Zip Neck. The top also has thumb loops, which we underutilized because the arm length was a bit short on our tester. Core Concepts has done a great job creating a slightly different running top, one that we feel looks and feels great, on and off the trail. For more information, please visit Corelayers.com

Shannon, our fabulous female tester, takes gear testing to a new level for women. When not at work or school, she is most likely training for a marathon, climbing one of Colorado’s tallest peaks, riding her road bike, or skiing down a mountain slope. Like many women, Shannon gets cold easily, therefore, we try to test the best all weather gear to help her stay warm and dry during all day outdoor pursuits. In the warmer months, Shannon enjoys exploring the Colorado backcountry with her friends and dogs and attempts to escape for as many trail runs as her schedule allows. Shannon is a great women’s tester because she gives readers true insight into how a product may perform for an active woman.
