LunarElite +2 Review

Nike LunarElite +2 300x225 LunarElite +2 ReviewWhen Nike launched its Lunar series, the goal was to produce a light weight and supportive shoe.  The LunarElite is just that with much more. In its first version, the LunarElite weighed in at an incredible 7.1 ounces, the LunarElite+2, now slightly heavier at 8.2 ounces, has improved benefits in construction, cushioning and support. Nike features it’s Lunarlite cushioning in the midsole, it’s softest foam to date and 30% lighter than Phylon, to provide maximum comfort and ‘Dynamic Support’.  Additionally the LunarElite+2 is enveloped in a ‘foam carrier’ to provide increased cushioning and absorption for each foot strike as well as support for the changing needs of a runner.  The upper portion of the LunarElite+2 is made up of a mesh overlay, allowing for maximum comfort and breathability.  The lightweight support and seam-free overlay reduces chafing on the upper foot. Again, Nike has again implemented the Flywire panels, securing the foot in place and reducing the foots ability to move around.

AGR testers found the LunarElite+2 to be a great training shoe, offering flexibility, breathability and comfort.  The seam-free overlay was a nice feature, especially for our testers who frequently blister.  The LunarElite+2’s flywire system also fit our tester’s foot snuggly, but still provided enough room for comfort in the heal and toe box. Nike states that this shoe is recommended for runners that underpronate to modestly overpronate.  Our testers found the LunarElite+2 to function as a neutral shoe with increased stability. Overall the Nike LunarElite+2 was a winner for both middle distance runs on streets and sidewalks; as well as  interval runs on treadmills or on the track.  If you are looking for a shoe that provides comfort and is versatility as well as technology, the LunarElite +2 fits the bill.  Equipped with the Nike+ technology, this shoe is sure to help get you in shape for your next race.  For any additional information please visit Nike.com.
