Helly Hansen ¾ Pace Tight Review

Helly Hansen Pace Tight 300x300 Helly Hansen ¾ Pace Tight ReviewHelly Hansen’s Pace ¾ Tight provides you with a great combination of both warmth and mobility. This spring and summer, I was able to test Helly Hansen’s Pace ¾ Tights off road up in the mountains of Colorado and on the pavement in Denver.

The Pace ¾ Tight is made out of Helly Hansen’s own Lifa material, which is comparable to a stretchy polyester and spandex blend. The blended materials help provide warmth during workouts on those cold weather days.

I was able to trail run in the Pace ¾ Tights a variety of times in the always changing Colorado weather. The weather while running varied from 40-90 degrees, from pouring rain to sunshine. The rain wicked away quite nicely from the tights. The tights never became heavy or bogged down. On warmer days the tights heated up quickly, but the ¾ length made it more comfortable on my warm weather runs. The ¾ length also offered me full range of motion while hitting the trails.

I was also able to try the Pace ¾ Tights while camping in the mountains of Aspen in early June. When the sun disappeared behind the mountains, the temps quickly dropped to somewhere in the 30’s overnight. I wore the tights with my tall Smartwool socks while hanging around the campsite. The tights kept me fairly warm. I tend to get cold rather quickly, so after some time I ended up adding another layer, but the tights were a great base layer keeping me toasty warm throughout the night.

IMG 1025 225x300 Helly Hansen ¾ Pace Tight ReviewThe Pace ¾ Tight has a flattering fit. I typically wear a medium for bottoms (I’m 5’5 and 124 pounds) and the medium fit perfect. It hugged my curves in all the right places. I do however have to say something about the unflattering stitching around the buttocks. The stitching goes right down the middle of your cheeks and I know from a woman’s point of view no one wants that part accentuated! The tire-striping grip that goes up the leg is a nice touch, but after 2 washes in the washing machine, it started to peel off. I expected a little more quality from Helly Hansen than that. There is 1 zipper back pocket that is a great feature. The pocket is a little on the small size but is big enough to stash your keys or a credit card. There are 3 reflective strips on the tights. One on the zipper back pocket, and one on each side of the legs on the backside of the tights by the calves. The reflective strips are a great feature on the tights to have.

In all, Helly Hansen’s Pace ¾ Tight is a great addition to my wardrobe as a base layer and running tight. Its multi-function capabilities offer great warmth and flexibility during any season.  For more information and color options visit www.hellyhansen.com
