Sierra Designs BTU Jacket Review

The Sierra Design’s BTU Jacket lived up to its name as we tested this jacket with temperatures sitting in the single digits and dropping well below zero in the wind. The BTU is designed to be extremely warm and weatherproof with 800 series goose down and a Tropozone waterproof/ breathable shell. We tested the BTU jacket skiing and snowboarding in sub zero temperatures and found the jacket to provide more than ample warmth in the harshest of conditions. The hood fit well over our helmets and solidly blocked the wind from stealing our warmth. The jacket offered an internal media pocket with loops to secure your headphones and two additional large mesh pockets to store goggles and other necessities. Tester’s found the jacket fit to be a little on the large side and would like to have had pit zips to help control overheating during heavy activity. Overall the jacket does as the name “BTU” implies and works wonderfully for snow sports in the coldest of conditions.
