The Brunton Vesta Butane Stove is a lightweight stove that works great whether you are car camping or backpacking. The stove folds down to about the size of your hand and takes minimal room in your pack. It comes with a handy carrying case that you can also store a few other items, such as matches, lighter, or silverware. The surface of the stove held every pot we put to the test with a very sturdy feel. The fuel flow is pretty easy to use and it’s not too touchy as we have found with other stoves on the market. By being able to adjust the flame to your needs, you also can save fuel which can come in handy on the long backpacking trips. The Brunton Vesta uses a butane canister which you can find at almost any outdoor and athletic store and also big box stores like Target. These typically will run you around $5. One downfall to using butane canisters is that they are not refillable and can be hard to find places that recycle them. They are also not allowed on planes, and can make tough for traveling to different countries. We do like the ease of use with butane canisters though.
